The Pinkerton labor spy
New York: Wilshire Book Co., 1907. Hardcover. viii, 229p., illustrated with a few plates and facsimiles (photoportrait of R.A. Pinkerton serves for frontispiece), 7.5x4.5 inch green cloth boards featuring a front-cover vignette in gilt of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Ex-library with remains of hand-lettering on spine, printed lettering nearly obliterated, a stamped bookplate on pastedown, textblock paper unaffected and untoned, damp-discolorization of top margins of casing. Overall quite presentable, a good to very good copy despite passage through a library system.
This work includes chapters on the Cripple Creek Strike, the Pinkertons in Wyoming coal mines and the Moyer-Haywood-Pettibone case.
