«Reformy» v armiyi SSSR. «Реформи» в армії СССР. (“Reform” in the army of the USSR) [WWII-era pro-Nazi propaganda leaflet directed to the Ukrainian public]

[Ukraine]: [194-]. 5.75x8 inch leaflet, paper toned, otherwise very good. Cartoon depicts Stalin giving shoulder insignia to a Soviet officer.

Text states that according to the Swedish press, guard regiments are being established in the Soviet army, and the orders of Alexander Nevsky, Suvorov and Kutuzov are being introduced. In a return to pre-Soviet traditions, intended to inspire Russian patriotism, the historical names of Russian regiments are returning. Generals and officers are being given gold and silver epaulets (in contrast to the early Soviet "proletarian" practice). Describes these reforms as superficial Soviet propaganda. Concludes with caption at the bottom, "Let the child be comforted, so that he does not cry!").
