[18 items from the 1970 National Rank and File Action Conference in Chicago]

Chicago: 1970. Eighteen handbills and packets, mostly 8.5x11 inches. Included are several announcements and draft programs, proposed declarations and resolutions, and six "fact sheet" packets. Generally very good with minor toning, occasional folds.

The official program included two representatives of the National Ad Hoc Committee of Concerned Steelworkers, which represented Black steelworkers. Because any such rank and file conference was to some degree a struggle between representatives of various radical tendencies, we see a leaflet from three Trotskyist groups, including the Spartacist League, demanding that their perspective be included. The Fact Sheets are on various topics of discussion: "Black and other minority workers," Real wages slashed, employers' share soars during Vietnam War," "Technological change," "Unemployment," "Auto workers," and "Industrial deaths and injuries."
