The British Secret Service Report. British consulate, New York City, June 10, 1919 [typed copy]

n.p. n.d. 23 sheets of onionskin paper with typed text, 8.5x11 inches, paperclip at top. Very good.

On October 13, 1939, isolationist Senator Jacob Thorkelson of Montana entered a document into the record which purported to reveal a British conspiracy to manipulate American institutions and strip the US of its sovereignty. Once published, the document circulated in right-wing conspiracy circles. This copy, diligently re-typed by some true believer, was part of a trove of anti-Semitic pamphlets from the era. Its efforts to conjure an insider voice describing the secrets of a world-conquering cabal are reminiscent of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," but with the British serving as the devious villains.
