Giants Play Well In The Drizzle, nos. 23–29 [7 issue broken run]

Brooklyn, NY: [Self-published, GPWITD], 1989-91. Seven consecutive issues of the irregularly published newsletter. Each 8.5 x 11 inch sheets, stapled and folded twice for mailing; toning, and some mailing stickers present, otherwise very good or good. Mailing labels addressed to San Francisco experimental poet Larry Fixel at his Willard Street address; occasional minor underlining or notation, presumably in Fixel’s hand. The earliest issue bears a brief inscription from King in green ink, obscured by dampstaining.

An association run mailed to San Francisco poet Larry Fixel. Includes first appearances of James Broughton’s “Time” and “Standing on the Volcano,” and Robert Creeley’s “New World," all acknowledged to GPWITD in their subsequent collections, as well as Creeley’s apparently uncollected “Elsewhere.” Other contributors include George Stanley, Fielding Dawson, Sam Abrams, Peter Quartermain, David Rattray, and others, with illustrations by Basil King.
