Fran Frisch (1948–2021) was a San Francisco cartoonist whose work was associated with the emerging gay bear subculture of the late 1980s. He began contributing cartoons to the Bay Area Reporter, BEAR, and other gay publications in 1989, and his work contributed to the creation of a distinctive visual vocabulary for the bear community.
