America First [application form to enroll as a member of the League for the Preservation of American Independence]
n.p. League for the Preservation of American Independence, n.d. 5.5x5.5 inch leaflet, some toning at upper left, otherwise very good.
The isolationist League formed in March 1919, in opposition to Woodrow Wilson's internationalist perspective. Among the principles listed here are preservation of the Monroe Doctrine, freedom from "entangling alliances," and avoidance of any obligation "to guard the boundaries of European or Asiatic nations." Instructions at the bottom note that the slip can be pasted to the top of a sheet of paper to turn it into a petition, which can then be sent to the headquarters in Washington DC.
