The Settlement of the Southern Ukraine (1750-1775). [ Special Issue of The Annals of Ukrainian Academy of Arts and Sciences in the U.S. - Vol. IV-V Summer-Fall , 1955 No. 4 (14)-1 (15) ]

New York: The Ukrainian Academy of Arts and Sciences in the U.S., Inc., 1955. Paperback. Unpaginated preliminaries, 1-350, followed by a large folded facsimile map on glazed paperstock (text unglazed, all stock is alkaline) followed thence by I-XX (appended notes and a lengthy, indexed list of personal names). Softbound in plain printed grey wraps, quite sound, unmarked in any way, and clean throughout except at bottom margin of titlepage there is a tiny black smear of ink plus three small streaks of diluted red (lingering paper-cut?). An impressive copy.

Author's brief Preface includes the information that "This work is the result of more than thirty years research in the archives of the Ukraine and Moscow. Originally [this] was to be the first volume of a broader historical work [but the] second volume was lost during the Second World War"
