The AWPRA was part of the rank and file movement among Social Workers in this period. Warns of the impending closure of transient shelters. "The transient clinic will close and many clients with infectious diseases will have no place to go for medical care. 259 unattached and transient workers have been dismissed despite administration promises to absorb them within the UTD which is greatly understaffed. The administration has utilized the above situation as a pretext to deny UTD workers their salary rights and back pay..." Calls for a picket to protest both the cessation of transient relief and the dismissal of staff.
