Cambridge: Self-published by the author, printed at the Dolmen Press, Dublin, 1962. 8p.,5.5x8 inches, 5 poems, toning to covers, otherwise a very good chapbook in sewn plain gray wraps with printed title and author on front.

First published chapbook after a 1960 school publication, "Caroms" at Groton School Press. The title poem, "The Ballad of Mary Baldwin" slowly reveals itself to be about a young girl who is forced into aborting her fetus on her own.

Sandy was born in Minneapolis and earned degrees from both Yale & Harvard, studying with Robert Lowell and Archibald MacLeish.
