"What is the Child Care Center Parents Association? We are an organization of working parents, many of us widowed, others the wives of incapacitated veterans, who are willing and anxious to continue working to keep our homes and families intact. We are interested in educating our children to become good citizens. We are ready to fight to prevent their becoming juvenile delinquents. We know that preschool education and proper child care is an essential part of modern education. We, who need it in order to live as decent, self-respecting Americans, want this kind of child care, not only for our own children, but for yours as well. Our ultimate objective is to make every public school a child care educational center for all citizens who desire and need such schooling for their children." Reprints selections from newspapers and from the group's own newsletter, with photos of the multiracial kids in attendance, and parents marching with signs demanding greater access to nurseries. The organization was led by Edythe Lutzker.
