A Religious Solution to the Social Problem
Wallingford, PA: Pendle Hill, [1942?]. Pamphlet. 33p., plus publisher's menu, softbound in 7.5x5 inch grey wraps slightly handled, staples have rusted with little or no migration, a very good copy. Pendle Hill pamphlet number two.
The 'social problem' is what (in general) Brinton labels 'excessive individualism', successful resistance to which must be coupled with a paradoxical respect for mankind's 'hard-won rights of the individual'. In other words, authoritarianism is another description of the problem. Brinton found the German mystic Jacob Boehme (1575-1624) had a useful insight.
