An appeal for donors to contribute to the construction of the Douaumont ossuary, a memorial for soldiers killed during the 300 days of the Battle of Verdun, and a burial ground. U.S. donors are specifically targeted, with reference to contributions from the American committee and the role of U.S. soldiers in retaking Verdun. Committee members are listed, including the Bishop Ginisty of Verdun and general secretary Henry de Montherlant who would later become a popular fiction author and a Nazi collaborator.
