East Bay Japanese for Action (now J-Sei) was founded in 1971 as a social services provider. Sakura Kai is a senior center in the East Bay. The art auction included 130 lots, among them sculptures by Harry Koyama and Ruth Asawa and paintings by Robert Sugita, that were displayed in banks throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The silent auction had 142 lots, odds and ends like nuts, paper, woodcarvings, etc.
