New politics: a journal of socialist thought. Vol. 7, Nos. 1-4 [old series, Winter 1968-Fall 1968]
New York: New Politics Publishing Company, 1968. Magazine. Four issues of the journal, a complete run for the year 1968. 98p. each, wraps, some light toning, spines faded, else very good condition.
New Politics represented intellectual refugees from Max Schactman's International Socialist League before it merged with the Socialist Party of America. The politics represented the earlier Marxist politics of the Workers Party/ISL known as "Third Camp Socialists". Representing a distinct anti-Stalinist "state capitalist" trend on the U.S. left the magazine never became an organ of any of the various state capitalist groups of the 1960s and 1970s.
