The reference to "the threat from within" was a play on terminology used by administrators of the University of California to criticize radical faculty such as Tony Platt, who had joined with students to protest Nixon's invasion of Cambodia and would go on to work as one of the faculty at UC Berkeley's Crime School. Harris presented several versions of this print to Platt as a token of esteem for his activism; this version has only one color, and the Native American figure wielding a gun has no hair. A more developed version had additional text, "It is the strange work of love to destroy what is against love."
