New York: 1944. Letter. Single sheet of letterhead from the Intercultural Education Workshop, 8.5x11 inches, typed on one side with signature of Davis-DuBois, the Workshop's director. Pencil checkmark in field, two pen lines in left margin, otherwise very good.

A response to a request for literature from Conlon, at the State Teachers College in Fitchburg, MA (she is the namesake of the Florence D. Conlon Fine Arts Center). "My dear Miss Conlon: I was interested to receive your letter of July 21 after my return from Wellesley College where I led a group in intercultural education with Margaret Mead and then having dinner just before leaving with Dr. and Mrs. John Mahoney. Mrs. Mahoney told me of the interesting developments of your intercultural committee under Governor Saltonstall. Your need for publications in intercultural education is the need which is being recognized throughout the country now and all too little published material is ready ... I am now finishing a manuscript which Barnes and Noble will bring out in the Fall, for high school teachers, and am 'co-authoring' another book on the elementary level which will come out at the same time. My book 'Get Together Americans' which Harper's published is a report of our work with P.T.A.'s, churches and adult groups and is related to work in schools." Goes on to offer Conlon the chance to go through the Workshop's archive of mimeographed literature if she visits New York. Davis-DuBois was a pioneer of intercultural education; she was not related to W.E.B. Du Bois, although he was a member of her Advisory Committee and is listed on the letterhead. Her hyphenated name (combining her family name, Davis, with that of her husband, Nathan DuBois) was unusual at the time and reflected her egalitarian commitment.
