A satire in which an unscrupulous bookseller wreaks havoc on the day a woman is called on by her suitor, a Deacon, at the Stubbins home. Stearns was a graduate of Dartmouth and doctor in New Hampshire. He wrote short stories and plays as an amateur and died in an automobile accident in 1915. Scarce.
