A satire in which an unscrupulous bookseller wreaks havoc on the day a woman is called on by her suitor, a Deacon, at the Stubbins home. Stearns was a graduate of Dartmouth and doctor in New Hampshire. He wrote short stories and plays as an amateur and died in an automobile accident in 1915. Scarce. Only two locations in WorldCat as of February 2023.
