Community Legal Defense Organization [handbill]

[Chicago]: the Organization, [1968]. Handbill. 8.5x11 inch mimeographed leaflet, very good.

The Community Legal Defense Organization formed in April 1968 to provide bail money and legal defense to Black residents of Chicago who had been arrested in the civil unrest that erupted after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. This leaflet, dated April 11, lists the categories of arrestees with the highest priority. It is a duplicate from the papers of Tony Platt, who co-founded the group.
