Cincinnati, OH: Fayette-Haywood Workcamps, 1973. Pamphlet. Four-panel brochure, 8.5x11 inches, date penned in corner, stapled together with the original cover letter and another leaflet that was mailed together with them.

Solicits donations to continue the work of the camps, which brought volunteers to work together with Black residents of the two counties that had been particularly targeted by Klan activity because of voter registration efforts there. The cover letter, by Virgie Hortenstine, begins: "Dear friend, Fayette and Haywood Counties in Tennessee are two of the poorest and most illiterate counties in the United States. Fayette-Haywood Workcamps has made some progress there in the past 11 years, working with the blacks who have taken such a courageous stand to lift themselves out of oppression and make it possible for their children to remain there instead of migrating north. We now are supporting six Freedom Schools for adults, where local poverty-level blacks teach one another Literacy, Black History, Sewing, Typing, Auto Mechanics, First Aid, etc. We began as a few northern volunteers and have grown in 11 years, giving what time, money and effort we had, supported by individual Quakers and others.… We are sending you the enclosed brochure with an article from Friends Journal, also a supporting letter from Indiana Yearly Meeting.”.
