Poetry, with some illustrations and a letter from an interned Japanese immigrant friend, discussing Colyer's experience of travel to Japan and the warm support she received when her husband unexpectedly died. Befriending a Japanese women, she returned to the US with her, only to see her interned during the war. Colyer laments the injustices of internment. A 2021 Nichi Bei Weekly column by Greg Robinson, "The Great Unknown and the Unknown Great: Lucile Colyer’s account of WWII’s impact on her Nikkei friends," describes Colyer's experiences in some detail.
