The Democratic Party of the State of New York, A History of the Origin, Growth and Achievements [&c &c] ..Including a History of Tammany Hall in its Relation to State Politics [with] An Historical Chapter on Kings County Democracy by Martin W. Littleton [with] Biographical Sketches of the Leading Democratic Politicians in the State of New York. Volume I. Volume II. Volume III. [set of three, complete]
New York: United States History Company, 1905. Leather Bound. Leather backstrips and leather corners, a "half leather" item in bookseller parlance, good condition allowing for outer-joint abrasion (an aesthetic matter) having fully operational undamaged hinges & endsheets, bright spine-titling and top-edge gilding. A touch of watercolor and a couple of coats of leather dressing would make this set stand out, with the single uncorrectable flaw being raggedness to top rims of all three parts. Pagination runs 503, 515, 544, all volumes illustrated with fullpage, tissue-guarded steel-engraved portraits of ugly public servants. Clean and unmarked throughout. As said, casings are physically quite sound, pace the scraping to all joints (which are of either morocco or pressed calf, in either case of poorly-prepared animal hide) and to top rims, where losses average one-eighth of an inch. The set of three together.
