Cover reports on the new Chief of Police for Berkeley, former FBI agent William Beall. Also a report on the shakeup at Berkeley's only daily, the Berkeley Gazette. Inside a full-page call for funding by the staff pointing out that the paper has been attacked by the Left and the Right. The succeeding title was Berkeley Citizen. Ended publication in 1967. Jon Carroll went on to write for the Chronicle, Rolling Stone, & served as the West Coast editor for the Village Voice.
