Cat.No: 285041 The prostitution racket

The prostitution racket

New York: American Social Hygiene Association, [194-]. Pamphlet. Six-panel brochure, very good. "1944" (year of receipt) penciled at bottom of rear panel. OCLC dates it to 1943 but we see no indication of this on the item itself.

Argues against those who favor tolerance of prostitution, particularly around military bases; states that the certificates used by brothels to certify freedom from VD infection are bunk, and that the prostitute only earns 20% of the money spent. States that the VD rate among soldiers in San Antonio plummeted after the brothels were closed.
