London: Printed for the Camden Society by John Bowyer Nichols and Son, 1840. Hardcover. xliv, 42, 35p., this latter section strictly Camden Society minutiae. Illustrated with a fine large folded map; this map shows many place-names underlined by hand in red pencil. Hardbound in 9x7 inch dark cloth boards decorated in blind, elaborate spine gilt - book was obviously once part of a collection, has a cover numeral partly eradicated. Head of spine is chipped a quarter of an inch, tail rim also a little battered, corner-tips slightly turned, pencilled notes on rear endsheet, endsheets otherwise clean, hinges in fine shape, this is a good (well, good-only) copy.

Item despite numeral to cover isn't strictly ex library; there are no other of the usual library uglifications. General excellence of the folded map (pace its holograph rubrication) also speaks for book's not having been inputted institutionally.
