n.p. [Ikenobo School], 1957. Thrice-folded certificate in brushstroke calligraphy, awarded to Carolyn Pasho in Showa year 32 (1957), in a thin folded case, in recognition of her achievements in this school of traditional Japanese flower arrangement. Also included, in a paper wrapper with Pasho's name, is one of the series of small booklets that were used for instruction, dated the previous year.
Pasho was born in Evergreen, Alabama in 1917. We find an online record of her departure for Japan in 1955.
