Les autostrades de l'Allemagne
Bruxelles: Maison Internationale d'Edition, 1941. Paperback. 77p., plentifully illustrated with captioned plates (fullpage sepia rotogravures) perhaps thirty of these amidst a running text entirely in the French language, softbound in 8x5.5 inch blank wraps enclosed in a color-decorated sur-wrap, a kind of dust jacket. The booklet itself in its blank wrapper is immaculate; the dust jacket, while awfully good, is very faintly abraded along the head of its spine-fold and has picked up a little dust-soil on its back panel (also blank). A very good copy indeed: quite sound, clean and unmarked.
Color cover graphic is an artist's rendering of a completed but empty stretch of four-lane. The very first sepia plate is a 1933 propaganda shot of der fuhrer shoveling dirt at the site of the Francfort a Darmstadt leg of the future autobahn, flanked by uniformed officers: "La construction des autostrades commence"
