"Asphaltoid" - Produit Travaux d'Etancheite

Paris: undated, circa late 1930s. Paperback. A large folder, 12x9.5 inch plain printed wraps, containing variously paginated fascicles that are staplebound and are themselves fastened into the wraps with a decorative cord. Presswork on thick matte leaves (quite alkaline) features sepia gravure site photography of (mostly) modernist industrial buildings, plus bridges & roads & houses, all constructed with the company's product (tarpaper, poured layerings, road surfacing). Many diagrams also; these detail construction minutia. Captions and the brief running text entirely in French. Wraps somewhat edgeworn, a little toned and spotted, staples badly rusted while the cord remains sound and decorative. The photos are excellent, clearly reproduced and in clean condition. Laid in find loose leaves that further clarify builders' concerns. All in all, a very good exemplar.
