Self-Propelled Diesel Cars and Multiple-Unit Trains. A Review of Recent Developments in the United States and Overseas

Chicago: Northwestern University School of Commerce, 1952. Paperback. 80p., glossy coated paperstock throughout with profuse b&w photography and diagrams; softbound in 11x8.5 inch plain printed wraps. Nice copy, although the cover bears three intake codes in red pencil, one of which partially erased; no other signs of ownership or institution, a very good copy. Amazing how many varieties of chassis there are in this category, many if not most specially designed: a 5-car model, articulated, for Egypt; a Wickham diesel for operation on steep grade narrow gauge in Colombia; a strange boxy 2-car for Venezuela; a 6-car diesel-electric for long-distances in Soviet-controlled territories, &c &c. Interiors are shown, also unhoused engines.
