San Francisco: Apex Novelties, Oct.,1967 [actually late 1968]. Comic. unpaginated, 6.75x9.5 inches, good second printing underground comic book with 35 cents on cover, stapled pictorial wraps.
These strips were drawn up in 1967 and were meant to be the first issue but due to a problem with the Philadelphia publisher who left for Europe with the original artworks, Crumb drew issue #1. About the time issue #3 was released he discovered Xerox copies of the original art and redrew it all publishing it with #3 as issue #0. According to Rubin this is the second printing with Kozmic Kapers appearing on page 14 instead of page 27.
