Covers are heavily dust-soiled, dampstaining to bottom-right corners of covers and all leaves, sellers' pencilings have inserted their price and the published date. A handleable reading copy.

A satire of the Irish Church written anonymously. Debaters include such luminaries as Lord J. Browbeater, Dr. Longbow, Dr. Roley-Poley, The Dean of Molesworth, Master Crook, Mr. Ramble. Publisher William McGee also published Trinity College's magazine "Kottabos". The Canon in question concerns the vest [waistcoat - the term "vest" is dangerously close to "vestments"!] and collar and tie to be worn by church priests and deacons.
