Speeches given at a Democratic Party meeting.....
Boston: Crosby, Nichols, & Company, 1853. 35p., signatures fastened with thread through stab-holes as issued in this, the "second edition;" self-wraps, mild small ink-splotch on bottom margin of both cover-leaf (title) and back cover (blank). A remarkably fresh-looking copy all around.

Unpublished thesis; vii, 276p., photocopied rectos only and cased into utilitarian buckram boards spine-titled. Mild rippling to a few leafs due to binding process. One instance of neat underlining on p.137, an otherwise very good copy.....
Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1878. Two volumes [viii, 380, vi, 403p.], steel-engraved frontis portraits of young and slightly older Sumner (handsome guy), original green cloth bindings somewhat edge worn with a bad little nick to the heel of v.1. Neatly-applied previous owner's bookplates on front blank paste downs, these overlap. Good.....
