Hardcover. xvii+269p., introduction, preface, illustrated with b&w drawings, very good first edition in black cloth boards gilt and enclosed in the glossy dust jacket decorated with a single color reproduction, a post-mod collage. While the jacket shows a touch of edgewear, the book itself appears to be immaculate.

Briefly inscribed and signed by Taik on the title page. Memoirs of a Burmese artist, living in California after growing up in an elite Burmese family. He returned to Burma to work and exhibit in 1991. Here in his preface he refers to "The 1988 revolt of the Burmese people against the cannonades of its socialist government" - he prefers a military dictatorship? peculiar further on he describes the effects of martial law on Burmese society.
