The New York girl in Virginia
Aberdeen MD: Harford Printing and Publishing Company, for the author, 1921. 255p., frontis portrait of R. E. Lee. Red cloth boards titled and ruled in gilt, 7.5 x 5.75 inches, front hinge broken and repaired successfully (no "tight-back" effect), casing edgeworn and slightly dim.
Manners and marriages between northern and southern college students, summering or otherwise vacating at "Washington College, Lexington VA," said college presided over by ex-confederate Robert E. Lee, a presence in this novel but only to minor degree a character. Not badly written but rather obscure and probably (if examined more closely) freighted with agenda.
