Brokaw was an individualist anarchist, the publisher of The Equitist, an associate of Benjamin Tucker, and a contributor to Mother Earth (the "libertarian farm journal" published by John Scott and Jo Ann Wheeler, not the journal of the same name published by Emma Goldman).
