A novel about growing up in a 1840's religious commune. This novel may be based on the author's experience as a child in The Burning Bush, a series of religious communes that flourished 1912-1919 [See Fogarty's Dictionary of American Communal and Utopian History, pp. 133-4]. The communes were financed by Duke M. Farson (most likely the father of the author).
