Believing his calling to serve Christianity was at odds with serving the Navy under the Church of England, Brothers became financially unstable and labored in a workhouse. Through this work, he began to believe himself to a be a prophet who received proclamations from an angel. Among other beliefs, Brothers thought that he had a special mission as Prince of the Hebrews, a descendant of the Biblical House of David, to gather the Israelites of London and bring them back to Palestine. He was arrested for treason in 1795 and imprisoned as criminally insane. The first book in this set is considered the first British Israelite publication. This particular book shares his visions for the fate of the English monarchy.
