With an introduction especially written for this volume on the primacy of movement, “The Art of Body Movement.” Articles discuss rhythm, business, and improvisation. Mettler, an American, studied dance at the Mary Wigman School in Dresden in the early 1930s; she returned to the United States and became a dance teacher.
