[Seven items related to Proposition V, the Campaign to Tax the Corporations]
San Francisco: Grass Roots Alliance, [1980]. Pamphlet. Booklets, leaflets, and two newsletters issued by the Grass Roots Alliance, a front group for the Democratic Workers Party. Proposition V ended up getting 41% of the vote, even after the DWP's sponsorship of it was widely attacked in the local media. A revised version of the Tax the Corporations proposition was on the fall ballot and narrowly passed, but was declared unconstitutional. This group includes an 8-page "Phone program" with instructions for canvassing, a "Guide to voter registration" (4p.), Grass Roots Alliance Bulletin 1 (4p.), GRA Update issue 1 (8p.), a pamphlet on newsprint titled "How will Prop V work," a leaflet titled "This time there is something worth voting for," and a bilingual leaflet announcing a District 6 neighborhood dinner.
