The author describes himself as a commander of a "semi-secret anti-Communistic organization," without coming out and clearly stating that he was actually a Klan lecturer of some prominence in the Los Angeles area. He was at the time of writing a card-carrying member of the Utopian Society, but he criticizes its leadership here at length.
