Exhibition publication for the touring exhibition: Asta - The Tenth Muse. Nielsen was the major Danish and German silent film star in the 1920s and early 1930s in Germany, Denmark and greater Europe. She appeared in 74 films (once as Hamlet as a woman in drag) and many stage productions. She left Germany after being approached by Hitler and back home in Denmark assisted Jews escaping the Nazis.
