Pitcherino; A Provincial Variation the Modern Game of Pitch Descended from the More Ancient Game of All Fours

Houston TX: Privately printed by the Rein Company, Houston, for the anonymous author [Hill], November 1930. Hardcover. 35p., hand-set presswork on watermarked Strathmore, thick alkaline paperstock, sewn signatures in untrimmed textblock. An expensive jest underwritten with Texan largesse; 7x5 inch boards papered in laid-lined terra cotta, provided with a hand-set cover label. Cover has a vertical crack along joint-line, terminal leaf has edgewear and a small stain; expect mild edgewear and handsoil, an as is copy. The ffep bears a pleasant presentation inscription signed so confidently that we have assumed him to be the proprietor as well as the gifter. Datelined 1944, a long interim suggesting Hill may be merely an interested party. At any rate, a mini-history of card games in general, and this Texas variation in particular with extra sarcasm.
