[Paris]: unpublished, n.d. Photograph. Thirty-one b&w photographs in two folders, pix are captioned tersely, no running text nor any other folders have come to us; 9x12.5 inch three-ring binders holding double-sided plastic pockets (with three empty but captioned sides). Photos are clear, professional, sterile. A few recumbant patients intrude upon the chromium and enamel apparatuses. The "Appareils 3" item shows mostly electrical devices from the 1930s that treat or replace kidneys, eyesight, catheter procedures, angiocardiograms, children, hibernation (?), distillation. Radium therapy photos show a couple of men who opperate your irradiation. Boggling and next to indescribable images from early medical modernism. We've taken two pix out of their pockets to reveal a covered caption; doing which we encounter a slight adherance of photo to folder that yields instantly. The binders are a bit edgeworn, the photos fine. The two related items together.

The hospital is in Paris and is still operating today. Edith Piaf was born in there in 1915 and Nestor Makhno died there in 1934.
