Roy was a prominent Indian revolutionary, whose international adventures included working to found the Mexican Communist Party and the Communist Party of India (Tashkent Group). He was a delegate to the Communist International, expelled in 1929. After WWII he advocated a new philosophy expounded in his 1947 manifesto, New Humanism.
