Amerasia Journal, Volume 1, Numbers 1-4 were a joint publication between UCLA Asian American Studies and the Yale Asian American Students Association. These first four issues were edited by Lowell Chun-Hoon, the co-founder of the Asian American Students Alliance at Yale. He was succeeded by the late Megumi Dick Osumi and Carolyn Yee. Russell Leong was the longest-serving editor from 1971 to 2010.
