Caveat Lector - An exposition - fakes and forgeries - facsimiles and deceptions - hoaxes and imposters - XVI - XX centuries. November 6, 1979 - March 31, 1980
Berkeley: The Bancroft Library, 1979. Pamphlet. 31p., a flimsy copyshop sort of production but marvelous content, illustrated with a number of b&w vignettes. Bliss writes lengthy annotations, his catalogue (28 pages actually, remaining leaves are a useful detailed index) is comprised of 67 such notes. Saddle-stitched in 8.5x5.5 inch wraps, staples are badly rusted and have migrated some, item was evidently carelessly stored, spine-fold bears a slanted line of offset color and dust-soil, The blank back cover has a mild, but rather large dampstain, the text area generally crimped. Physically, fair to good-only condition. Autographing as "Tony," Bliss has inscribed the titlepage to Berkeley bookseller John Swingle.
