Ladies' Clubs and Societies in Los Angeles in 1892, Reported for the Historical Society of Southern California, Carpere et Colligere. Compiled and Edited by Mrs. M. Burton Williamson, March 1892

Los Angeles: The Historical Society of Southern California / N.A. Kovach, 1925 / 1945. Paperback. 85p., index, softbound in 9x6 inch white cardstock wraps lettered gilt, provided with a tipped-in leaf printed by seller Kovach explaining publication delay (see below). Cover wraps and text paper are alkaline with faintest hint of toning, mild dust-soil to covers, the tipped-in leaf slightly edgeworn (having gotten loose at one point), a good to very good copy: sound, essentially clean, and unmarked.

Subtitle of Kovach's 1945 issue runs "A Survey of the Social Life of Los Angeles in the Nineties." The verso message of this inserted re-titling is labelled Apologia and reads: "This interesting survey was originally intended to be a report of the Society. For two decades the work was suppressed by the publishers; in fact less than twenty copies got into circulation. The balance of the edition, numbering one hundred and fifty-five copies are now released for sale."
