The Voyage of Thomas Best to the East Indies 1612-14. Edited by Sir William Foster
London: Printed for The Hakluyt Society, 1934. Hardcover. lvi, 316p., illustrated with a few maps and a facsimile (all as called for), hardbound in Hakluiyt's signature skyblue cloth boards gilt & blind, and (how exceptional) the original plain printed dust jacket in good shape (item perhaps untouched since its publication?). Book itself is perfectly sound, square and crisp, interiorly clean and unmarked. The dj is made of acidic stock but has not offset onto cloth or endsheets, quite amazing, it is a "good-only" exemplar but intact and now enclosed in a mylar brodart to size. Second series, no. LXXV.
