[Group of thirteen items opposing "Ham and Eggs"]

San Francisco; Los Angeles: Northern California Citizens Against 30-Thursday; Southern California Citizens Against 30-Thursday, [1939]. Pamphlet. Thirteen small leaflets and brochures issued by opponents of the California initiative that would have created old-age pensions of thirty dollars distributed every Thursday as a way to deal with the Depression. Includes two forms of satirical currency, arguing that the measure would destroy the value of money; four different color versions of a card arguing that it would make taxes balloon, a leaflet asking "Why work?", and other items arguing that the ballot measure would lead to a nanny state disincentivizing work and emptying government coffers.
