Glaze as born in Nashville in 1920 and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating from Harvard, he served as a Communications Officer in the Army Air Corps. He lived in New York city for a time and was later named the 11th poet laureate of Alabama before passing away in 2016.
